** spoiler alert ** I really like the Argeneau series even though they are formulaic in the whole:

1) Vampire meets Life Mate.
2) Life Mate struggles to accept truth.
3) Something bad happens.
4) Everything turns out okay.

In this installment of the Argeneau series (and first installment of a new semi-spinoff), it was missing #3. It had the illusions of several instances of #3, but nothing actually bad/life threatening.

Of course, that's all okay since it was still an enjoyable read and introduced us to the three Willan sisters who will each play a part in an upcoming book in the Rogue Hunter series. (Jo in #3 and Alex in #5). There were the laugh out loud moments that I have come to expect from Sands and the amusing mishaps.

I also liked that it was Garrett Mortimer instead of another Argeneau family member. It was also nice that they were more the Enforcers like Lucian (whose story I also liked, because they are usually more bad ass than the more normally employed immortals.)

Good, but not AS good as the previous novels. I'd still recommend the series to anyone who hasn't read it yet.
