Miloš: I like it and love it both because of the Pirate, and the Pirate bug should save the Queen bug.

Brontë: Yeah, and um...I like that too Lošie, I think it is cool that you thought of that. But I came up with this idea. Since it's cool how about the cat is the Queen's pet? And that is all.

Papa: But wait Të...there's no cat in this story.

Brontë: There was a bug that was pretending he was, there was a bug who was dressed as a black cat for Halloween.

Papa: Oops, you're right.

(Miloš and Brontë sounded out the first half of the book today, helping each other as they went. And Miloš wants me to mention that he knew "Dawn" and it wasn't tricky at all).

Later (Miloš sounded out the whole thing with the bare minimum of prompting today):

Papa: So how'd you like reading your book today, Miloš?

Miloš: What I liked was that it was Halloween and one little ant was a pirate. He was a cutie. And the girl with the pumpkin head, she was cute too. So anyway...half way through the book I liked that they said "Whoosh," and I also liked that the pumpkin head said "Not me," asked Dee. Okay, Papa? That's what I liked about the book.
