really liked it
bookshelves: graphic-novel

Apparently the X-Men series hit a good stopping point and, when they started again, they had the inimitable Joss Whedon write the sucker. You can tell by the dialogue (and I bet somebody gets happy and then has their best friend die or their puppy run over as is Whedon's way).
Anyway, Xavier off somewhere (or dead, I couldn't tell which) and a former villain, Frost, is heading the school with Cyclops. Cyclops gets Beast, Shadow Cat, and Wolverine together to revive the X-men as heroes. Meanwhile, a geneticist has found a "cure" for the mutant gene and riots break out as mutants want it desperately, so they can be normal. Also, some big scary from space, Ord, is after the X-man--you'll be surprised why. Ends with a tease about why Shadow Cat was called back to the school.
I liked this and I am not a fan of the X-men, or, as I like to say, X-People.
