3.5 stars

Apparently getting deathly ill and bedridden (I may exaggerate slightly) does have its up sides, because I read this book all in one day. In between blowing my nose and hacking up a lung and whining for my mommy, of course...

So, this is a Kresley Cole book and as such has a lot of great moments. But overall, I was disappointed. I just never connected to the characters. There was nothing wrong with them per se, they just didn't do anything for me. And therefore the romance didn't do anything for me. I read this book primarily for the glimpses you get of the other characters, like Nix, Regin, Bowe and Mari, Cade and Rydstrom. Ah, Cade...

Basically, Conrad is a fallen vampire, deep in bloodlust and completely nuts. His brothers take him to an abandoned house for detox, but the house is haunted by the ghost of the woman that used to live there. Conrad is the only one who can see her, and love is in the air.
BDB fans already know that ghosts do not make good heroines. It wasn't so great in this one either.

Oh, and also the plot was kind of confusing. There was something about a dream demon that was after Conrad for some reason, and something about his greatest dream and his worst nightmare... it was never really clear.

But, like I said, it's KC so it was worth reading. It's forgettable, but it got me all anxious to read Cade's book.
