While this is overall an ok book written by two of the masters, I kind of felt that it was off its game slightly. It is a quick read but I felt many of the ideas in the book were put there for blunt political purposes and didn't seem to fit into the story to well. At times the adventures of this college student were just unbelievable but the parts with the alien races were very interesting.
