I would actually rate this more of 3.5 stars if I could.

I was actually pleasantly surprised with this book. I’m not normally a contemporary romance fan and have not cared very much for Garwood’s latest books (although I love her historical romances) but I thought this one was a fun read. Some of the things Sophie did were pretty dumb yet I could see myself making the same mistakes. I loved her father being a modern day Robin Hood who steals from the corrupted big wigs in the world and using the money to help those suffering from the downturn in the economy. I have to admit Jack’s character was just so-so for me. I did not see as much development in his personality except that he was a controlling, dominating sort of man. I’m actually more excited to read the story about Regan’s brother Aiden. He kept coming up as this good guy who acted as Sophie’s protector when she was younger, was a rich yet caring guy and a whiz at cards. Can’t wait to see if he and Cordie end up together.
