Another re-reading of a book I loved about 45 years ago. It is still a nice book, but it didn't have the impact it had the first time around. I would recommend it, but I'm not sure to whom. It is very slow and introspective. I can't think of another modern book like it. The modest story-line moves carefully through reflection after reflection, but it is funny about occurrences that don't readily lend themselves to humor - life's dissappointments, old age, death. I guess it is a reflection about life that doesn't turn out the way you expect. I like the book.
