Abney does a good job of presenting a broad view of semisupervised learning techniques. He's fairly clear when it comes to math, and doesn't seem too ideologically biased. He does kind of go off the deep end a couple of times, though, particularly in his description of spectral methods (just what is it we're trying to do here again ?). Generally I thought this was a perfect book for the semisupervised learning course I took at UT.
