This book is basically a long essay that discusses in detail each stanza of the "The Invitation." I really liked the poem, which is why I decided to invest the time in the book. There are voluntary meditation exercises at the end of each chapter that are supposed to help you with different challenges that present themselves in life. Some of these are interesting ad helpful, but as I read on, I found them a little too new age spiritual for myself.

At the heart of the book is the poem, which reminds us to live life to the fullest as best we can, everyday. Very good advice, I think. However, I found that the flowery imagery distracted from the main point at times. In this case, less is more.
