The first half of the book was not at all enjoyable. I would rate it a 1. It was as if the author did not flesh it out... which under the circumstances of fate, could very well be true. She spent pages elaborating on unimportant issues like a cat prowling a garden and then spent two sentences on the tragic fatallity of a major character. The major events in the book were anti-climatic, extremely brief and thrust upon you without any warning, which irritated me.

The second half of the book I really liked and would rate a 3. Nice developemnt of interpersonal relationsips. Good characters.

Had I not known in advance the fate of the author and been intrigued to learn about her, I would not have finished the book.
