Someone's taking lethal shots at weres, including the leader of the Hotshot community, Calvin Norris and Sam, Sookie's boss. Calvin's people think it's Sookie's newly-turned brother Jason, but Sookie's determined to prove otherwise. In the meantime, she has to make a deal with Eric to get a temporary bartender to cover for Sam, and Alcide wants her help with the choosing of a new packmaster for the Shreveport werewolves. There's no rest for Sookie as her life is targeted several times, but thank god for her fairy godmother...

There was less of a structured plot in this one and more of many little plots, some of which connect and some of which don't - but I found it more enjoyable than some of the more single-plotted books like Club Dead. A whole parade of men tramp through Sookie's life wanting her attention and more: Eric, Bill, Sam, Alcide, Calvin and the new guy, Quinn. It gets quite crowded at times! But there's always something to keep us on our toes with Sookie and her crazy life.

Kimmay Yes, I agree It does get quite crowded at times... I almost don't know who to root for to end up with Sookie. I just love Eric, but what future would Sokie have with him ? Alcide, well i really liked him for the most part, he is a nice guy, sweet and considerate, but has some major hang ups. Quinn, now he has some potential but don't really know that much about him yet. And of course Sam, he is a nice guy but is he really "right " for Sookie That i am not so sure of. Calvin, he seems solid, but is that what Sookie is looking for ? And Bill nah, he lost the race a few books ago in my mind. Lol

You write great reviews, i always check yours out when i get a chance. :O)

Shannon (Giraffe Days) Thanks Kimmay :)

My thoughts exactly - none of them are "just right" for Sookie, are they? Actually Calvin, though nice, gives me the willies. Did they not imply in this book that he'd had a daughter with his sister or something? It was right at the end, it wasn't explicit only they had the same surname, Calvin's not married, and Sookie's reaction made me realise I'd nearly missed something significant!
