I didn't read the description until after I read the book. The only thing I knew about the story was that a girl wished to be popular.
So, when I started reading and Wilma wished to be "the most popular kid at Claverford" (her middle school), I thought the story was going to be all about how she wouldn't be able to cope with the overwhelming attention that would come with the wish. Basically it was the opposite. Wilma wanted to be popular forever. But, she made the wish just three weeks before graduation. Then, they would all be going into high school and not be at Claverford anymore. Thus, no more popularity. (Of course the wish was taken literally.)
I thought this story was really cute. And... I completely and totally fell in love with Jared! I wished I knew a boy like him when I was 14.
