An interesting addition to the Young Adult teenage dystopia genre. This time dystopia is in the afterlife, or really purgatory. Level 2 is where you're supposed to review your life, and learn the lessons necessary to move on. Instead, it's become a place where people access and re-access the positive moments in their lives through a sensory computer system, and "rent" them out to others. (The literature major in me wants to say this is an allegory for our current day society.)
It was an interesting read, until I started thinking about the piece as a whole after finishing. It started to feel more like a religious/Christian agenda to me, and we all know that makes me run the other way. My hangup, I know. So if you can read it without turning on the literature analysis part of your brain, or if you're good with that kind of agenda, by all means pick it up.
