Csikszentmihalyi is unquestionably one of the pillars of the newly-popular positive psychology movement. This book is noteworthy for introducing the crucial concept of flow, but it takes only 30 pages or so to convey all the essential particulars. The author has no particular gift for prose and it soon becomes repetitive. The idea is fascinating and important, but the details are considerably less so.
