Maybe even 3.5 stars. The research for the book was certainly original, extensive, and impeccable. And the topic is really interesting and relevant. I absolutely agree with the author's take on the necessity of exposure to differing points of view and the need for greater cooperation and compromise in our daily lives and especially our political lives. The reality that we have segregated ourselves along political party lines both geographically and through our lifestyle choices is striking and divisive. Like-minded groups tend to become more extreme, but what we need is moderation and cooperation. If you can gear up for some slow-moving segments of this book and some unnecessary repetition, I think it is a pretty good read.
