liked it

Former teacher Web is suffering from post-traumatic stress and tries to cover it up by being a complete ***hole and driving all of his friends away. When his final remaining friend lays down the law and forces him to go back to work at a trauma scene cleanup agency, he stumbles into a scene of mayhem, deceit and violence. This has been desperately hyped as Huston's breakthrough novel, but I's was a little dissapointed and felt that it didn't live up to the hype. It had all of the hallmarks that made his previous novels so good, but it just never came together as a compelling story, and Web, the main character was written as such a jerk that it was hard to sympathize with him.
