The book has a lot of interesting ideas. Many of them odd enough to be interesting. Others require a suspension of belief. The book seems aimed at becoming a series. So, it will be interesting to see where the author takes it. A basic premise is that the Indian Nations hold off the colonial expansion along the Mississippi river line due to the magical powers of two great Indian Leaders. The USA as it then exists is trying to end that stalemate. Just as obviously, the Indians want to win...Read the book to see a Variant Thomas Edison and an equally odd mechanic.
