My Favorite Mistake was a really enjoyable read, and, for good or bad, not nearly as angst ridden as I anticipated. In fact, some of the book was a wittle too saccharine for me. This book had likable characters, was frequently laugh out loud funny and was fast-paced. The book was very character focused and the entire story revolved around the relationship of the two main characters, Taylor and Hunter. I really liked the will they/ won't they build up between Taylor and Hunter, who both have deep dark secrets in their past, but I felt the resolution of the secrets was a little too tidy. The secondary characters were not totally developed and mainly served as set pieces for the action of the main characters. It was a little underdeveloped plot and secondary character wise. That being said, I never once felt that this book dragged, and whenever I had a chance I dove right in. I found the dialogue out and out hilarious at times. And even as I rolled my eyes at Hunter's insta-love for Taylor and much discussed prowess, I totally had a book boyfriend thing going for him, and I am so not into guitars and tattoos. If you liked Beautiful Disaster, then this is a kinder, healthier version. Really enjoyed, and I wish there was a sequel so I could hang out with the characters some more:). Definitely recommend!

22.0% "Very similar to Beautiful Disaster. Fucked up college students, check; tattooed man-whore as love interest, check; kinda crazy unsympathetic heroine, check; mysterious past times two, check. Enjoying it mostly, although sometimes I feel that my real life has enough university drama :)" 2 comments
