I saw this book laying around my girlfriend's house and needed something to read. It was a pretty quick and easy read. There are lots of short chapters that make it easy to do in short sittings and not lose the story. I thought the story was a little slow at first but I got into it about halfway through. I didn't have another book with me, and it wasn't bad enough to put down. The writing is actually pretty good, I am just not into fiction that much without some kind of context like history or such. The ending of the book was good, and if you needed a quick read for a trip I would recommend it. Lots of mini stories are contained with in the main one as well. Also was intrigued by the writer being a local portland oregon musician.
