I like Robin and Chris together but felt a lot of their story was detracted from because of all the loose ends the author was trying to tie up in this story. I also kind of hated the fact she let Alex find the "cure" to being Darkyn. I don't know why I hated it but I did like it somehow make the Brethren was even more justified in their horrible methods of breeding their own Darkyn - because it was something curable so those who chose to remain Darkyn were evil? Nope. Hated that plot point.

I also felt shortchanged on the explanation of the Marian/Robin/Sherwood triangle, Beatrice's mysterious burning to death but did she? storyline, John the dark shadow prince and his connection to Luisa and the ever changing appearance of Richard from cat to more human but still a bastard. All of these stories felt rushed and I know the author wanted to maybe make everyone happy with neat tied up bundles but really all in one book? It just didn't work for me. I've heard this is her last Darkyn and I guess that explains the need to finish up so many storylines but instead of leaving me happy with the way each story turned out I found it was more frustrating than if she had just left those extra storylines out...

Oh well. This has never been my favorite series but more a tide me over between other series release dates kinda book.
