it was amazing
bookshelves: audio, young-adult, western
Read in September, 2008

A charmer from Sherman Alexie about a 14 year old Indian boy who communtes from the rez to a better, all-white school 22 miles away. Arnold Spirit is a brave and spirited boy who overcomes many obstacles to find acceptance and respect from both his new classmates and fellow tribesmen. The audio version lacks the drawings (Arnold is a cartoonist) but Sherman Alexie's narration is outstanding.
