Living on the Market delves into the psychology of the stock market and the rollercoaster ride of Doug Thomas who becomes hooked on the lure of easy money. At its heart the book is as about the psychology of an addictive personality and one man's struggle to tame it.

Ben Antao also turns his writer's eye on the nature of fairweather friends who jump on and off the bandwagon as it suits their purposes. Doug Thomas learns what it's like on both sides of the equation - the man whose 'stock' has tumbled literally and figuratively and the hot commodity whose coat-tails everyone wants to ride.

Ben clearly knows the subject matter well and takes his hero on a revealing journey. The ending was a bit anticlimactic for my liking although in keeping with the character's arc. All in all, Living on the Market is an interesting character study.

Ben Thank you, Michael, for that generous review. I had to keep the ending anticlimactic to stay in the character's state of mind at the end or as you've put it "in keeping with the character's arc."

Hope more people on this forum get the novel from me and read it.
