The book Salamandastron may be long but its the name of the mountain fortress run by a badger lord named Urthstripe. The daughter of Urthstripe is Mara who goes out on a journey to escape the fort for a while while Ferhago the assassin and his son Klitch goes out to capture the fortress to get the badger's treasure. Meanwhile at Redwall a famous abbey for housing Martin the Warrior has a crazy little mischevious Samkin which found the sword which fell off the abbey being struck by lightning. He goes out on a journey after Ferhago's lost soliders steals the sword which both the Badger lord and Samkin come together to fight a common enemy.

i can connect to the world because in the world there were many wars where they had many countries and allies helping the cause of defeating a common enemy or country. This is like Ferhago because he has to fight off two enemies at the same time. They were like those wars which shows how terrible the author made the book look so realistic. It shows that he made it look that people that make too many enemies will fall.

I only gave this book a four out of five star unlike other Brian Jacques books this book was a little confusing. It became confusing with the constant deaths of the characters. My favorite character is Klitch. Even though his father Ferhago says that Klitch is an unable character to control his army Klitch finds a way to win every time. He gives victorys to the horde and captures soldiers of Salmandastron and out thinks his father every way. I also didn't like that there were two fortress which makes it diffcult which group is from which fort, which shrews are from which tribe and which soldiers or allies were they found by and which person helped them. I liked everything else though the multiple points of view and the strategies and thoughts of every important solider, general, and or main character.
