At first this book started off as mediocre in my opinion. It was pretty surprising to me as I absolutely adored all of Jacqueline Carey's Kushiel novels. Thankfully the plot and characters did get better as the story went on. Overall though the book came across with more of a Young Adult classification. The characters must be in their mid twenties from what I could gather from the story and details. But the way in which they acted/talked seemed very juvenile; as if they were still in high school. Hopefully they will be more adult acting in the next book in this series. As for the series I do think it has tons of promise. I loved the interactions between the main characters and the secondary characters like Lurine and Stefan.
