it was amazing
bookshelves: short-stories, should-be-better-known-stories
Read in July, 2002

another book I found by chance in the library. It's great.

...found this in my 2002 notebook: 1st story set in a grit factory, full of brooding violence, heavy drinking, malevolence. Frankly brilliant. Tight, crisp. Unravels later in your head, scenes from it. [later in the notebook] ..Such a big draw that book, like a magnet lying on its side of the table. Come and read me, it's saying.. Great book, one caveat - too much kudzu.

Jessica oh I read that, or some of it, some time ago. He's funny.

Alan I'll see if the library's got a copy - I've just spent all my 'book' money on obscure collections recommended by Jessica (message 1 above)...
Yeh these stories were brill.

Alan someone obviously deleted themselves - not talking to myself!
