it was amazing
bookshelves: first-reads
Read from October 11 to 14, 2012

The Twelve is set in post-apocalyptic America. Researchers experiment on twelve death-row inmates with a bat virus. The virus reverses aging, increases, strength, and allows them to live forever. It also makes them ravenous for blood. The twelve escape and cause a pandemic. Infected persons are called virals. They’re never referred to as vampires. Calling them vampires would probably make people want to date them. This isn’t a lame ass Twilight book. Virals don’t sparkle or sit around pouting—they kill. It’s not about the vampires anyway. It’s about human survival.

Have you ever read a book that made you stay up all night? This one did and scared the bejesus out of me. I received an advance review copy from the Goodreads for free. I hadn’t heard of Justin Cronin’s trilogy before receiving The Twelve. The Twelve is the second book of the trilogy. I’m going to get the first one and wait impatiently for the final book because it’s so awesome.
