Explanation of Rating: I would give it four stars since it gives a good history of India but still I think the writer could have done something else to make it more interesting.
Recommendation: I would recommend it to a person who wants to know more about the Indian history and some of the negative impacts after her independence. It would be best to read if you are either teenager or an adult. It gives a good view for any Indian or foreigner to understand what kind of things went on in that time. The book also covers a little bit of politics.
Summary: The story was set in India and Pakistan just after the independence of India. The writer is speaking about way people mass murdered each other because of the anger of mainly the Muslims since they were forced to moved to the newly named Pakistan. The backdrop of the story is about two people who fall in love with each other in the middle of the turmoil.
