I like Dan Pink's style... he is clearly intelligent, and has decided to approach the world with an optimistic realism. My kind of guy.

Pink provides a decently argued rationale for expanding one's right-brain thinking, and various ways for going about that development. He stresses not to be all right-brained, or all left-brained, but that our society has rewarded left-brain thinking, leaving our right-brain largely under-developed. As the world turns, it would seem the synthesis of the "whole new mind," is what the job market now needs. Otherwise, your job is going to be outsourced or obsolete entirely.

Furthermore, Pink's prescription easily extends beyond career advice, to life guidance. He discusses the importance of joy, humor, play and empathy.

This book definitely falls into that self-help-feel-goodie-wish-I-were-just-reading-Anne-Lamott category, for business and career development concepts. I have also read Pink's, The Adventures of Johnny Bunko- it is very similar. Both are quick reads and very empowering.
