bookshelves: religious-canon

It is suprising the great and powerful use of literary tools the Biblical authors use. I infinitely prefer the Old Testament to any other LDS canon, due to its focus on themes and its captivating stories that simultaneously provide spiritual nourishment. A couple of my favorite Biblical stories are Gideon and the Midianites (Judges), Sennacherib's army (Isaiah), and Balaam and Balak (Numbers). Powerful and amazing stories all throughout, and these are just added bonuses from what is primarily a deeply spiritual work. My favorite verse of scripture (Joshua 1:9) and favorite chapter of scripture (Proverbs 3) are both contained in the Old Testament.
