I believe each book of this series has been more entertaining than the last and this one was no exception. It continues the story of Rain Tairen Soul, Defender of the Fey, and his true mate Elysetta Baristani. She has discovered that she is Fey, but she has also been claimed by the Dark Mage and bears two of his marks. When Rain brings her to the Faering lands for the first time, it touches off an internal war between the Fey who feel bound by their traditions and welcome no change and those who can see that only with change can they hope to secure the survival of not only their race but that of the Tairens as well. I very much enjoyed this book and can hardly wait for the next one.
