bookshelves: chapter-books, z_09
Recommended to Jess by: 2nd-5th grade girls (easy chapter book with enough illustrations
Recommended for: Fifth Grade Girl Who Was All Smiles about it
Read in January, 2009

Ivy, the girl down the cul de sac, looks boring to Bean but she holds some surprises for both Bean and her old sister Nancy.

An OK series loved by many a 4th/5th grade girl. My only real gripe is with the illustrations. Is it just me, or are the girls's arms and legs starving-child thin? Look at the heads then look the hands, arms, or kneeless legs. Just looks odd to me.

Erin these are very very cute!

Emilia P Yes. They are too cutesy in an uncomfortable way, I agree. Maybe it's not intentional but it threw me off too.

Jess I've found that the girls who check out Ivy and Bean also like really like checking out and showing me pictures from the cupcake cookbook I have.
