Evie has always been everyone else's doormat. She's sweet and never has a mean thing to say even about those that are cruel to her. Then Ansgar comes to town. A demon hunting hottie and way out of her league. He thinks otherwise and is determined to show her that she's a beautiful and strong woman. Evie must battle her emotions and deal with the fact everyone in town thinks she killed someone. Except something much bigger is going on than a jealous wife haunting Evie. The demons want Evie and she doesn't know why. Ansgar is determined to protect her, but she can't protect her heart from him.

I liked this book better than the first. Perhaps I can relate more to Evie than to Addy. Evie's strength comes through her compassion rather than physical prowess. More about this strange little Alabama town is revealed and it just keeps getting weirder. Lots of paranormal happenings and a frightening southern Mama. I laughed out loud several times and I've learned so many new colorful southern phrases. It's fast-paced and a lot of fun.
