Read in January, 2009

Tight writing, good imagery and symbolism. Oats' ability to let the main character go through the agony of the grief process is impressive. A step above the average YA novel, I think. Good use of short chapters. Believable portrayal of school life and internal turmoil.

Recommended for YA and adults.
