I'm having a hard time digesting this short novel. When it first arrived on my kindle, I was like okay, good, Tahereh's next installment...I'm sure to like this (since I liked Shatter Me so much). But when I finished, shortly later, I was stunned by how much I didn't like it....I loved it. She took a character that is supposed to be unliked by the audience (even though he is a smoldering good looking man in uniform) and created a complex and fragile character that we all can admit to relating to.

This short story was just what I needed after a long week, and I'm so glad I purchased it. Miss Mafi has yet to write something that turns me off. Her style is unique, and even in Destroy Me when it isn't from Juliette's perspective, her writing style still hooks me from the beginning and keeps me grabbing at it, like I'm grabbing for the candy-bowl.
