This is a thought-provoking and engaging story about a young woman who organizes a group of women to be brides for a Nebraska town full of bachelors after the Civil War. Unlike many other such stories, nothing turns out as expected for anyone. The realities of the frontier town are described exceedingly realistically by the author. There are surprises in the story that should engage most readers.
