I did enjoy this but found it uneven. I do not revel in long technical paragraphs about the science or mechanics of anything and it felt like there was a lot of that in here. At the same time, it felt like there were obvious missing pieces (elevator banks for a start or tubed messaging). Maybe I didn't fully appreciate the size of the silo but I found the lack of inter floor travel or scarcity of it completely unbelievable. I won't bother going on about the number of details that struck me as false or downright silly--putting all of that aside, some of the characters are quite haunting and well wrought. Overall, enough good things going on and enough decent writing for the rating. Last word and the same complaint I had in an earlier review this evening--an incredibly cartoonish arch villain. A little less time on the space suits and a little more time on the anti-hero would go a long long way. As it stands, I have no clue re the villain's last action.
