Read in January, 2009

I wanted to read this book for a couple of different reasons--mainly because I spent the first 12 years of my life in an Iowa town just a little smaller than Oxford, and Stephen Bloom was my adviser in college; his wife was my reporting instructor. I've also wanted to read his book about Postville (Postville: A Clash of Cultures in Heartland America), another small Iowa town that continues to experience turmoil and controversy. Some of the stories in The Oxford Project felt familiar to me, but many were also pretty shocking and heartbreaking.

Lindsay Remind me who his wife was? I don't think I had either one of them (unless he was married to Kay or Kate). I've been meaning to read Postville as well.

Emily I remember hearing about this book and wanting to read it... on the news maybe? But I couldn't remember what it was called!
