I really enjoyed this book. Part of that may be that I enjoyed the historical aspect. I loved reading letters from years past that gave insight into life in the "old days". Also, I loved reading about all the "ordinary" activities in the lives of the Hinckley's. It made them seem more real and approachable and also made me wonder how they ever found time to work in the garden and on their home and their kid's homes.
