Really enjoyed reading this book!! It was recommended to me from a high school student in my old youth program. It was written during the Harlem Renaissance and written like a play in 3 acts. The two main characters are African American women. One "passes" as a White woman when it's convenient to her but is married to a Black man. The other "passes" as a White woman all the time and is a married to a man who is racist...and doesn't know she's black! I found the plot interesting, especially because it explores the idea of racial identify and if Black men find women who appear White as more beautiful and whether Black men who are very dark beautiful because they are exotic looking...?
Anyhoo, the relationship between the two main characters is equally intense and the ending is simply...killer!! ;D
Would like to discuss what others thought about the ambiguous ending!!

P I have a book recommendation based on your positive review of this book; I haven't read the book, but the review sounded interesting and a similar topic in the present day. The book is a memoir and it's called "The Black Girl Next Door" about a middle class black family trying to figure out how to fit in, or whether they can or even want to in a mostly white, middle class neighborhood. It sounds interesting, even relevant to stuff we've talked about - about being Mexican in the Q.C. Anyway, in case you need another book to read!

Erendira Good looking out, P! Sounds interesting... I will add it! ;D
