Admittedly a bit dated and geared towards people who want to be professional songwriters and not singer-songwriters, this book is still a pretty solid guide to the basics of songwriting and publishing. The editing is terrible, leaving grammatical mistakes and misspellings of famous artists' names, which seems tacky given that she is an expert in her field. Still, it is a helpful glimpse into the basics, though songwriting is one of those things that you kind of just have to get if you want to do it. There's only so much to be explained.
