I have now read this book three times. It stays on my nightstand and I go back to it often. It is an autobiography of Shane Claiborne, a man who gave up his dreams and his expectations for life to do what he believes Jesus intends for us to do. He went from being a prom king and med student to selling all he had and working with the poor and homeless in Philadelphia. His understanding of scripture has expanded my own and his willingness to sacrifice himself for the benefit of others should be an inspiration and example for the rest of us. I have the highest respect for Shane and hope that I can slowly change my life to living sacrificially for others.
