I really want to like this book just because the concept of guy like Gage having the ability ink with magical results is interesting. I have read the prequels leading up to Angel's Ink and was hooked. But just like movies when you see previews of upcoming movies giving you snippets about the movie, it can be deceiving. That's what I'm feeling about this book so far - I'm somewhat losing steam and taking longer to read this book. I think the problem I'm having is having a female writer write in a man's POV. It's a risk since one can only make certain assumption about the complexity of the opposite sex's inner working without sounding stereotypical or sexist. I found, while reading in Gage's POV, that he was written with "feminine touch" with his thought and actions. Will I continue with the series? Maybe. If I can finish this book. Update: finished the book. I do admit the last part had its fill of nonstop action but I'm on the fence in regards to Gage.
