really liked it
bookshelves: teen-fiction

I must admit - I did find this book a little disturbing. I mean I get the whole dystopia angle and I am a reader that can suspend disbelief, but kids killing kids as a televised sport.....ick.
Nevertheless, this book is insanely readable and I didn't want to put it down when I got to the last 100 pages. Being the sap that I am, the romance angle really worked well on me as well. Overall, it was a really great read despite my aversions to the whole concept. True confession: I did almost throw the book across the room when I got to that last page and it read "end book one." Can't anyone just write ONE book anymore these days???? Ugh - but I'll be looking for the next installment for sure (I'm such a sucker).
