I read it a couple years ago, but suggested it for the book club and read it again. The group was virtually unanimous that they liked the book, my first pick since taking over the club. I think its appeal is in the juxtaposition between the author's successful adult life and the horrific stories of her childhood. But in addition she never condemns her parents or begs for sympathy. The images she shares says it without the need for her commentary. It wasn't as powerful reading it a second time, but I still recommend it.
