By far the most depressing yet compelling book I've ever read. That's pretty much all I can say ...

Cole Soooo good.

Andy I'm kind of anxious to read this book since Entertainment Weekly named it the best one of the last 25 years and its movie is coming out in November. Depressing and compelling? Sounds like a winning combo to me!

Cole Andy, let me just undermine Gail's review by saying this is my favorite book that I've ever read. I lurrrrrved it.

Sorry Gail. I just had to give my homey Cormac the love he deserves.

Oh, and I know that we're pretentious book snobs, so we always think the book is better than the movie, but booooooooooooooo hiss for casting Viggo as the father.

Andy Thanks for the vote of confidence in The Road. When I was buying it at Border's today the checkout clerk was also telling me that it was his favorite book as well. Maybe it's a guy thing?

And, I am going to try my hardest to not think of Viggo in the role. I hate it when you know who plays the character in a movie and that's the only person you can imagine while reading. I want to create the person myself.

Definitely looking forward to starting this one up.
