While I can't yet attest to the results this book claims, it seems like it has good suggestions for the first 3-4 months of your child's life. There is a LOT of repetition, and it could've been a much shorter book.

The author believes that babies are missing a fourth trimester in the womb and thinks the best way to calm a fussy baby is to recreate their experience in the womb. The main points are the 5 s's, which need to be done in order:
1. Swaddle- to stop your baby from flailing. Make sure arms are straight down at her sides.
2. Side/Stomach- roll your baby onto her side or stomach (not when sleeping).
3. Shhh- this needs to be loud. Try to do it as loudly as your baby is crying. White noise like radio static, vacuum cleaners or hair dryers can work for this too.
4. Swinging- wiggle your baby with fast, tiny movements like you're shivering while supporting her neck and head (but allow the head to move a little like jello).
5. Sucking- pretty self-explanatory.
