When my daughter saw the title, her observations were painfully acute: "Are THE PEOPLE OF FOREVER immortal? They can get hurt really badly but not die?" Ah, sweetie. This is so very true. The story of three of young female Israeli soldiers revealed a world I am unfamiliar with, a reality that is harsh and cruel. Full of violence, this book is not for the faint of heart. I appreciated Boianjui's brutal honesty regarding a female view of war, but found the non-linear storyline and frequent shifting of voice to be a distraction.
