    <body><![CDATA[Jennifer Niesslein takes experts' advice on different subjects and filters out the bullshit. Her cynical worldview (&quot;moderately hopeless&quot; an online test told her) and sense of humor is the perfect spin for me. Like her, I can't help but be skeptical of people who tell you they have all the answers, but at the same time, I'd like to think I'm open to suggestions as to how to genuinely make my life better. Chapters on cleaning, personal happiness, interpersonal relationships, and service to others had useful tips. The money chapter's tips were useful, too, but nothing I hadn't heard before. Chapters on romantic relationships, kids, and religion were either too vague, too mainstream, or too lame for me. Her review of Martin Seligman's book Authentic Happiness was so great that I'm actually excited about reading it.<br/><br/>P.S. I just took the optimism test that she talked about, and I got a &quot;moderately hopeless&quot; result, too. See, she's *perfect* for me.<br/><br/>Cleaning<br/>* make sure eveything has a home<br/>* identify hot spots and clear daily<br/>* wake up to a clean kitchen<br/>* choose clothes the night before<br/>* &quot;swish&quot; tub, toilet, sink daily<br/><br/>Money<br/>* keep track of expenses for a week to find unnecessary luxuries<br/>* #1 credit cards, #2 retirement, #3 emergency fund, #4 fun fund (automatically deduct from checking)<br/><br/>Friends<br/>* use names<br/>* compliment<br/>* be positive<br/><br/>Service<br/>* what are you good at?<br/>* what issues concern you?<br/>* who do you work best with?<br/>* random acts of kindness]]></body>
