it was ok
bookshelves: caldecotts-for-slackers

1982 Caldecott Medal. I remember the hype surrounding this book in mommy-and-me circles when it was published. I barely liked it then and, revisiting it, only sort of like it now. The imaginative elements are fun but the kids are such brats, I don't really care if they are surrounded by wild beasts. Really, you have to wonder about kids who wear fancy clothes to the park and call their parents Mother and Father!
