This is such a well-written book! So sad and poignant. I enjoy Mr. Hosseini's ability to characterise without being overt about it. One instant you're just reading about someone new and the next you feel as if you've known that person for years.
He weaves his storytelling amongst details so stark and realistic the reader often forgets this is fiction. (Though I imagine many Afghanis have lived out similar lifetimes.)
An essential read.
